Privacy policy

Retro Blackjack doesn't collect personal data. We have no accounts, ads, analytics, tracking or purchases. Your progress is saved on your device and in your own iCloud, and your coins appear on a Game Center leaderboard. Here's exactly what's saved, where it goes, how long it's kept and how to delete it.

Effective November 1, 2026. Covers the Retro Blackjack app for iPhone, iPad and iPhone Duo, and the website retroblackjack.com.

At a glance

Retro Blackjack is made by Edgar Olivares (EEO Advertising LLC, "we", "us"). We don't run servers for the game, and we don't collect, sell or share personal data. Your progress is saved on your device and in your own iCloud account, where we can't see it. If you use Game Center, your name and coin count appear on its leaderboard.

What's saved on your device

As you play, the game saves these in its own storage on your iPhone or iPad:

  • Your coins, your best coin total, hands played, hands won, blackjacks and times begged.
  • Which casinos you've opened.
  • Your settings: hand totals, sound effects, music, profanity filter, reduce motion, whether your name shows on the strip, your chosen casino and dealers, and whether you've seen the hand-signal guide.

The game uses this data only to remember your progress and settings. None of it is ever sent to us. Your progress (everything above except your settings) is also saved to your iCloud, as described next. If you back up your device with iCloud or a computer, Apple's backup may include it, like any other app's data.

Your progress in iCloud

When you're signed in to iCloud, the game also saves your progress (your coins, best coin total, hands played and won, blackjacks, times begged and unlocked casinos) to your own iCloud account, using Apple's iCloud key-value storage. That's how it follows your Apple Account to your other iPhones and iPads, and comes back if you reinstall. It's stored in your iCloud account, where we can't see or reach it, and Apple handles it under its own privacy policy. It doesn't go through Game Center.

Apple Game Center

The game uses Apple's Game Center for the leaderboard and for friend rooms. Signing in to Game Center is optional, and every casino plays without it.

Your Game Center name and player ID

Your Game Center name is saved by Apple with your Game Center account. When you're signed in, Game Center gives the game your display name and a player ID. The game shows your name on the strip if you turn on "Show name" in Options, and at your friends' tables in a room. It uses the player ID only to send room messages to the right player. It never shows the player ID or saves it.

Friend rooms

When you create or join a room with a 6-digit code, Game Center connects the players. During play the game sends your bets, cards, moves and Game Center name to the other players in that room, and to no one else. These messages travel through Apple's servers. We never receive or store them.

Leaderboard

The Coins leaderboard ranks players by the coins they're holding right now. When you're signed in, the game sends your current coin count to Game Center as your score. Apple stores it, and other players see your Game Center name, your coins and your rank on the leaderboard. You can control who sees your Game Center activity in the Settings app under Game Center.

What we never collect

  • No analytics, crash reporting or third-party code of any kind. The app is built only with Apple's own frameworks.
  • No advertising, no advertising identifier and no tracking across apps or websites.
  • No location, contacts, photos, camera, microphone or health data.
  • No in-app purchases and no payment details. Coins can't be bought, sold or cashed out.
  • No accounts, passwords or email addresses inside the game.

Third parties

We don't sell, rent, trade or share personal data, and we don't use advertising networks, analytics tools or third-party SDKs. No parent, subsidiary or related company receives data from the game.

The only third parties involved are:

  • Apple, which runs iCloud and Game Center. Apple handles that data under Apple's privacy policy.
  • Vercel, which hosts this website, and Google Fonts, which serves its fonts. See This website.

Each of these companies protects the data it handles under its own privacy policy, with protection equal to or greater than what this policy describes.

How long data is kept, and how it's deleted

  • Game data on your device stays until you delete the app, and deleting the app erases it.
  • Your progress in iCloud stays in your iCloud account after you delete the app, so it comes back if you reinstall. We never hold a copy.
  • Friend-room messages exist only while the room is open. The game doesn't keep them after you leave.
  • Game Center data, such as your name and leaderboard score, is kept by Apple under Apple's policies.
  • Emails you send us are kept only as long as we need them to help you, and no longer than 12 months after the conversation ends.
  • Website logs are kept by Vercel for a short time under its policy. We don't export or keep them.

How to withdraw consent or delete your data

  • Erase your game progress on a device: delete the app. The copy in your iCloud stays, so reinstalling brings it back.
  • Stop saving to iCloud: in the Settings app, tap your name, then iCloud, and turn off iCloud for Retro Blackjack. Your progress then stays on that device only.
  • Leave the leaderboard: sign out of Game Center in the Settings app, under Game Center. The game stops sending your score, and rooms switch off until you sign in again. Everything else keeps working. You can also choose who sees your Game Center profile there.
  • Hide your name at the table: turn off "Show name" in the game's Options. The leaderboard still shows your Game Center name while you're signed in.
  • Delete your iCloud or Game Center data: because it's in your Apple Account, we can't reach it. Ask Apple through privacy.apple.com.
  • Delete emails you sent us: ask at the address below. We'll delete them within 30 days and confirm by email.

Your privacy rights

Depending on where you live, including the EU, the UK, California and other US states, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or port your personal data, to object to or restrict how it's used, and to withdraw consent at any time. Because the game sends us nothing, the only personal data we could hold is email you've sent us. We'll answer any request within 30 days, and you won't be treated differently for making one.

We don't sell personal information or share it for targeted advertising, as those terms are defined under California law. If you're in the EU or UK, you can also complain to your local data protection authority.

Children

Retro Blackjack simulates casino blackjack, so it's rated 18+ on the App Store (17+ on older versions of iOS). It isn't directed to children, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has emailed us, tell us and we'll delete the message.

Security

Your game data stays in the app's own storage on your device, protected by iOS. Your iCloud and Game Center data is encrypted and protected by Apple. We have no game servers or player databases, so there's nothing of yours for us to lose.

This website

retroblackjack.com has no cookies, no analytics and no forms. It's hosted by Vercel, whose servers log standard request details such as IP address, browser type and the page requested, in order to deliver and protect the site. The site's fonts load from Google Fonts, so Google receives your IP address when you view a page. See Vercel's privacy policy and Google's privacy policy.

Changes to this policy

If the game starts handling data differently, we'll update this page and the effective date at the top before that update reaches the App Store, and we'll mention it in the release notes.
